We are excited to announce that Chico Housing Action Team has hired a new Executive Director, Nicole Drummond. Up until now, Leslie Johnson has heroically served in the Executive Director role as a volunteer. Nicole’s hiring means Leslie can continue her amazing work in the role of Assistant Director and Board President.
Nicole has been helping vulnerable populations for more than 20 years. For over 15 years she was a director of a local early intervention agency. Parent Infant Programs is a vendor of Far Northern Regional Center that supports families who have a child either at risk or diagnosed with a developmental delay or disability. Nicole supported the creation of multiple programs across six Northern California counties to support the growing needs of this population. Prior to this work, she supported volunteers who advocate for foster children at Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and worked in a variety of non-profit grant funded and county programs that support families.
Nicole has attended CHAT events and been a supporter of CHAT’s work since its inception. She has volunteered for Safe Space Winter Shelter and has formally and informally supported many vulnerable populations through direct service.
Nicole grew up in Northern California. She has been a resident and active member of the Chico community for almost 20 years. She has a BA in Child Development from California State University Chico and an MA in Leadership with an emphasis in Social Justice from Pacific Oaks College. Nicole is passionate about supporting people and organizations that do good work in the world! She is very enthusiastic about supporting all the amazing work CHAT does in our community. Please join us in welcoming Nicole to CHAT.
