CHAT Helping More People Move Out of Shelters and Into Housing

Today's Chico Enterprise-Record has a good article about the efforts of the city and organizations including CHAT to move more folks from homelessness and shelters into hotel rooms via Project Roomkey and into permanent affordable housing. Unfortunately the funding for this statewide project is scheduled to end at this month, but state partners are hoping to extend funding for another month.

(Thomas Key, pictured with his granddaughter, lived for about two years in Torres Shelter before getting placed in a new home in May. He was referred by Project Roomkey to a temporary hotel room in April due to health issues. (Kathy Hill -- Contributed))
