Greetings CHAT Supporters!
We are entering our Fall fundraising season, which is rich in giving opportunities, and we hope you'll find a way to partner with us this fall. We never take your support for granted, and we are constantly honored and flattered at the high level of trust that you place in us. We want to let you know about several gifting events coming up that we would love for you to participate in, but of course we do not expect you to respond to all of them. We are presenting this donation menu to you now so that, if you are able to make a donation, you can pick and choose what works for you. Some, for example, are matching opportunities. Or, if you have been following the progress of Everhart Village, you might want to support the crowdfunding campaign for that program. Again, we appreciate and honor any financial support you can give.
October 10 – October 31: Crowdfunding for Everhart Village
Starting on World Homeless Day, October 10th, and ending on Halloween, we will host a crowdfunding campaign for Everhart Village with the goal of raising $100,000. Cost overruns during this inflationary period have been challenging, but we have broken ground on construction and are excited that this project is in the home stretch. We would like to have a chunk of the $100,000 lined up ahead of time to help guarantee the success of the campaign, so if you know you plan to donate to this event, please let us know ahead of time at info@chicohousingactionteam.net – and then, on the first day (October 10) donate by clicking on the link on the CHAT website or on our Facebook page. We will send an email with a link for this campaign when it starts, and you can also help by passing this along to your friends and relatives.
Monday, November 14: Annual Appeal
This will be the kick-off for our year-end Annual Appeal, CHAT’s only planned direct mailing appeal each year. This appeal is vital to supporting all of CHAT’s programs.
November 27 – December 2: Week of Giving
This is North Valley Community Foundation’s Week of Giving, an annual event whereby NVCF invites the community to support dozens of local organizations that are vital to our community.
Tuesday, November 29: Giving Tuesday
This yearly event is hosted by Global Giving, an international organization that supports non-profits. This year Global Giving has $1.2 million available in matching funds for the non-profits with whom they partner. They match individual donations up to $2,500. If you want your donation to have extra impact, November 29 is a great day to donate.
December 27 – December 31: End of the year!
CHAT will be welcoming any end-of-the-year donations. Some of you may wish to take advantage of the last- minute opportunity to receive a tax deduction for 2022. Look on our social media for fun photos and memories of the year in CHAT.
Anytime: Monthly and Other Sustaining Donors
Whether you give once or many times, please consider becoming a monthly, quarterly, or yearly sustaining donor this year as you think about your upcoming support of CHAT. Sustaining donations are enormously valuable to us as they provide a consistent and reliable foundation upon which we can build. We currently have 180 monthly donors, and we would be thrilled to reach 200 monthly donors to further increase that reliable foundation of support. You can set up a sustaining donation to CHAT's overall program, and or set up a sustaining donation specifically to Everhart Village.
This fall marks the nine-year anniversary of CHAT. What success we have had is a tribute to the donations we have received from our steadfast supporters. We are so grateful for the generosity that you and others have consistently given to CHAT. Thank you!
