We're thrilled and delighted that Joy Amaro, executive director of the Torres Shelter in Chico, has been hired by the city of Chico for a short-term position as homeless solutions coordinator, as part of the city response to the COVID-19 crisis. She's bringing a world of experience to the role, where she'll be coordinating with the county and state governments and with local housing agencies, such as CHAT, to get funding moving for getting people housed.
As Joy says in the article, CHAT is eager to work with local property owners to master-lease houses and apartments to low-income individuals.
